INSTALLATION

Basic:

  1. Download scripturizer.php and put it in your Wordpress plugins directory (assuming Wordpress is installed in http://yoursite/wordpress that means http://yoursite/wordpress/wp-content/plugins).
  2. activate the plugin using the Wordpress administration interface (from the Wordpress Dashboard: Manage / Plugins)

If you want, you can edit scripturizer.php to change the default translation (NIV) and other basic options:

To change the default translation (this is the translation to which scripturizer uses for basic Bible references)

  1. Look for the following line: "define('DEFAULT_BIBLE_TRANSLATION','NIV');"
  2. Change 'NIV' to any of the recognized translation acronyms (scroll down to see a list)

To disable dynamic substitution (by default Scripturizer adds links each time a post is viewed (in other words, it doesn't change your post at all), but you can have Scripturizer make the changes whenever the post is created or edited--this would cause permanent changes to your posts).

  1. Look for the following line: "define('DYNAMIC_SUBSTITUTION',TRUE);"
  2. FALSE: Static/permanent substitution
  3. Dynamic Substitution is highly recommended as it allows you to later change the default translation and apply it retroactively as well as allows plugin upgrades to improve old posts.

To enable Libronix Support (cause Scripturizer to add Libronix Links - http://www.logos.com/support/lbs/weblinking )

  1. Look for the following line: "define('LIBRONIX_LINKS',FALSE);"
  2. TRUE: Libronix Links added
  3. FALSE: Libronix Links not added

Libronix Users:

  1. download LibronixLink.gif and put it in your wp-content directory.
  2. download scripturizer.php and put it in your wp-content/plugins directory.
  3. change define('LIBRONIX_LINKS',FALSE) to TRUE
  4. change the other defines, if you are so inclined
  5. activate the plugin using the Wordpress administration interface

HOW TO USE SCRIPTURIZER

How Scripturizer Recognizes Scripture References:

Scripturizer will recognize Scripture references that conform to somewhat loose conventions:

  • [Book] [Chapter] (such as Psalm 23, Romans 8, Genesis 12)
  • [Book] [Chapter]:[Verse] (such as Romans 3:23)
  • [Book] [Chapter]:[Verse]-[verse] (such as Matthew 5:1-3)

Where [Book] can be a full name or an abbreviation, with prefix as applicable. Note that prefixes can be in several formats:

  • 1, 2, 3 (as in 1 Corinthians)
  • I, II, II (as in II Chronicles)
  • First, Second, Third (as in Third John)
  • 1st, 2nd, 3rd (as in 2nd Thessalonians)

Scripturizer will recognize most common book abbreviations. NOTE: All abbreviated references to Judges should include the letter 'g' in order to differentiate between Judges and Jude.

Scripturizer can also recognize translation acronyms following Scripture references:

  • [Reference] [Translation] example: Romans 3:23, CEV
  • [Reference] ([Translation]) example: Malachi 3:1 (NIV)

How Scripturizer Determines Which Translation To Use:
