Rewrite Titles rewrites your page titles, especially the titles of your single post pages. It removes your blog name, things like "Blog Archive" a.s.o. from single post pages, archive pages etc. Of course, your main page is left as it is.

Installation

  1. Upload to your plugins folder, usually wp-content/plugins/
  2. If you have Compression turned on under Miscellaneous options, be

prepared to turn it off in case it doesn't work.

  1. Activate the plugin on the plugin screen
  2. Look at a single post page and see how the title has changed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I really need to use this plugin?

Of course not. If you are satisfied with how things are you don't need this. If you already tried to change a lot of template files just to change the order of phrases in your titles, you could probably make good use of Rewrite Titles.

How can I tell if it's working?

Turn it off, look at a single post page. Notice the title. Turn it on and reload that page. The title should have changed significantly.
