Infinite scroll: don't use the query var 'page' as it may lead to conflicts

Reported by: Chouby Owned by: ethitter
Priority: normal Severity: normal
Plugin: jetpack Keywords: infinite scroll
Cc: richard@…

Description

I am using the filter 'infinite_scroll_ajax_url' to add support of infinite scroll to a plugin. So I add a new query var (custom taxonomy). So when using the permalink structure %postname% (I simplify the urls much):

?infinity=scrolling&page=1&ctax=something

is redirected to

/something/?infinity=scrolling&page=1

which is redirected to

/something-to-do/1/?infinity=scrolling

Because of course I have a post and a term which start by the 'something'

The query var 'page' is thus misinterpreted and Infinite scroll is broken. Everything should be fine if the query var name is changed to something non existing in WordPress, for example 'infinity_page'.

Should be fixed thanks to r777844 and r794892, released with Jetpack 2.7. Could you give it a try, and reopen this ticket is you still experience issues?
