Jetpack Carousel not displaying current picture on Android's default browser

When it does not work

When you slide to the next (or previous) picture in the carousel, the current picture does not show up while the next and previous faded portions are normally visible.
This bug in Android default browser called interned (see the specs bellow)

The picture actually flashes for a fraction of second before it disappears.

Carousel is not currently supported for mobile devices.
