People requested a feature that lets footnotes be embedded anywhere on the page: ​http://wordpress.org/support/topic/plugin-wp-footnotes-choose-where-to-put-footnotes-on-page?replies=16

Since no one was answering the forums, I assumed you were too busy, and I implemented the shortcode feature: ​http://huyz.us/2011/wordpress-footnotes-anywhere-in-the-content/

Then I realized you use Trac and you may not scan the forums. Maybe that's why you've been quiet.

So here's my enhancement request. you can of course merge the changes that I've already done on github.
